Over the last ten years of Inside the Writers House, Rutgers students have visited with almost 300 authors in cities all over the world, from Dublin to Paris to Buenos Aires to Johannesburg. But this week is all about Jersey (with one foray to Sydney).
KEVIN SMITH (Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Tusk) is an American independent filmmaker who pioneered low-budget, dialogue-driven indie cinema with his 1994 debut, Clerks. He is the creator of the iconic comedy duo, Jay and Silent Bob (portrayed by Jason Mewes and Smith), frequently cited alongside such classics as Cheech & Chong, Martin & Lewis, Laurel & Hardy, and Abbot & Costello. Kevin is widely credited with helping to stabilize and modernize the comic book industry, particularly through his critically acclaimed work on Marvel's Daredevil, bringing mainstream attention to comics during a period of industrial decline.
