Join us for a literary conversation with novels Zain Khalid hosted by Rutgers Assistant Teaching Professor, Adam Dalva. 

Zain Khalid's first novel, Brother Alive, won the NYPL Young Lions Fiction Award and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize for best first book in any genre. He also won the CLMP Firecracker Award and is the recipient of the 2023 Bard Fiction Prize. His writing has appeared in The New Yorkern+1The BelieverAstra MagazineMcSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, and elsewhere.

Adam Dalva’s writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, The New York Review of Books, and The Atlantic. He is the Senior Fiction Editor of Guernica Magazine. Adam serves on the board of the National Book Critics Circle and is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Creative Writing at Rutgers University. His graphic novel, Olivia Twist, was published by Dark Horse in 2019.
