NOV 20 at 2:50 PM for another installment of Rutgers University's Inside the Writers House, when Writers House instructor Alex Dawson talks with Darcie Little Badger about her YA debut, Elatsoe, included in in Time Magazine’s recent list, "The 100 Best Fantasy Books of All Time." Elatsoe been called "outstanding" (Time Magazine), "refreshing... fast-paced" (Publishers Weekly, starred), "haunting... fresh" (Booklist, starred), "unique and powerful" (Bookpage, starred), "brilliant" (Kirkus, starred), "a Lipan Apache Sookie Stackhouse for the teen set" (Shelf Awareness, starred), and "charming... terrifying... beautiful... satisfying... moving" (NPR). Darcie is a Lipan Apache writer with a PhD in oceanography. She is writing a Dani Moonstar story for ‘Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices’ #1 and co-wrote Strangelands, a comic series in the Humanoids H1 universe. Her short fiction, nonfiction and comics have appeared in multiple places, including Nightmare Magazine, Strange Horizons, and The Dark.
