Please join us Mon. Oct 5 at 11:30 AM for the next installment of RU's Inside the Writers House, when Writers House instructor Alex Dawson talks with Appalachian author ASHLEY BLOOMS about her debut novel, EVERY BONE A PRAYER.

short stories have appeared in The Year’s Best Dark Fantasy & HorrorFantasy & Science Fiction, and Strange Horizons, among othersHer nonfiction has appeared in the Oxford American. She’s been awarded scholarships from the Clarion Writer’s Workshop and Appalachian Writer’s Workshop, served as fiction editor for the Yalobusha Review, and worked as an editorial intern and first reader for Tor.com. She currently lives in rural Kentucky with her partner and dog, where she is at work on a second standalone novel.

"A book like Every Bone A Prayer exists in the space between author and reader so viscerally that you can almost hear crawdad shells crunch, wood splinter, and bones groan. And its heart? That is threaded carefully through its pages. It reveals itself slowly, within the book's many layers." ― NPR
