Please join us 11:30 AM, Weds. Feb 6 in AB 1170 (Academic Building, 15 Seminary Place) for the spring kickoff of Inside the Writers House, when Writers House instructor Alex Dawson talks with internationally bestselling Irish author Eoin Colfer. Colfer is best known for his beloved book series, Artemis Fowl, which follows the 12-year-old titular genius, a descendant of criminal masterminds, as he battles a powerful, hidden race of magical creatures who may have kidnapped (or killed) his father. Billed as "Die Hard with fairies" and the "Anti-Harry," the series has sold over 21 million copies, placing Colfer in the upper echelons of YA fantasy fiction with the likes of Tolkien and Rowling. The film version by Kenneth Brannagh, with a screenplay by Irish playwright Connor McPherson, premieres this August. Click here for trailer.
