Russell's debut novel, Swamplandia!, was a New York Times "Best Book of the Year" and a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Russell is also the author of St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, Vampires in the Lemon Grove, and Sleep Donation. She is a National Book Foundation "5 under 35," a New Yorker "20 Under 40," a MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grant" recipient, and one of Granta's "Best Young American Novelists."
