This course focuses on the power of documentary storytelling and explores the techniques needed to craft an effective short film. Through the careful examination of a wide array of films, students evaluate how projects are developed from seed idea to completion, and participate in all aspects of movie production. Students will also have the opportunity to join the crews of professional projects already under way, including prison justice and true crime/horror documentaries. The variety of skills honed in and out of the classroom will eventually culminate in a compelling 10–15 minute film.
