In this class, there will be a strong focus on generating new work across genres: poetry, fiction, playwriting, screenwriting, creative non-fiction, hybrid. Using many in-class creative prompts from all artistic fields, we will write in each class, and share new work. We will read essays about creative thought and process, craft, and revision. We will develop and improve our skills in multi-genre close reading and listening to peers, and find a shared language to communicate feedback that is observation-based, productive, and supportive. This is a creative boot-camp -- a laboratory for working writers.
