Teaching Creative Writing
Summer Professional Development - WH Teachers College

July 20, 22, 24

The Rutgers Writers House three day seminar in Creative Writing is designed for teachers who are looking to further develop a range of approaches to teaching the craft of writing across several genres, or who are looking to develop creative writing exercises for use in your English Literature course.  We will begin by discussing techniques that will help students become attentive readers.  Moving through Fiction, Poetry, Non-Fiction, Drama, and New Genres, we will explore various ways to design a single or multi-genre course.  There will also be demonstration and discussion of the uses of various 21st century technologies in the Creative Writing classroom.

You will leave with an abundance of exercises to implement in your Creative Writing and English classroom.
