Description

Temple Grandin is a doctor of animal science at Colorado State University, a bestselling author, and a consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior. Dr. Grandin, a high-functioning autistic, is widely noted for her work in autism advocacy and animal welfare. She first became well known after being described by Dr. Oliver Sacks in An Anthropologist on Mars. She is the author of eight books and over 300 articles in scientific journals and livestock periodicals; her most recent publication is a book on autism entitled, The Way I See It: A Personal Look at Autism and Asperger's. Dr. Grandin has appeared in media venues around the world, including television shows such as 20/20, CNN Larry King Live, and the Today Show, and has been featured in magazines such as the New York Times, Forbes Magazine, and Time Magazine.
